I should have finished packing already for Quakecon in Dallas but I have been busy just watching new vids from Snapfactory’s blog showing the new PocketWizards.  The video gave me a couple ideas but I’m still deciding on how many 580ex2′s I want to buy as I’m phasing out my old tools.  And check back mid-week for a more Quakecon posts as this year’s event is shaping up to be exciting and crammed week.

I’m planning my entire week around the Riverwalk Cafe resturant for breakfast; its always been my favorite food at the Gaylord.

Quick glimpse at my upcoming lanparties I’m attending

First we have Nor’Easter 2009 this weekend just north of Boston; somehow I got drafted into helping run the console section.  There are only a couple seats left and looks like a full weekend for me.

Quakecon is August 13-16 at the Gaylord Texan.  Personally I like this hotel location better than the Anatole.  The Gaylord has so many places and people to photograph even when I’m not at the lanparty. Say hi if I bump into you.

Of course I’ll also plug my local Jersey lanparty Thegxl.com’s GXL Unleashed.  We’ve bumped the cap to 768 gamers and will actually be using the full bay to capacity.  Another cool event to come to if you’re on the east coast.  I’ll be doing photography at this event and running a side tourney or two.

I’m finally conscious and fully awake after another Otakon convention.  There were thousands cosplaying at the con and just 2 or 3 cameras there. OK, a slight under exaggeration on the camera number.  I’ll compare my 2009 experience with my first Otakon experience in the wrap-up.  Otakon pictures I took will be available from my Zenfolio link on the right.
